Albert Bierstadt and the Western Landscape: Sublime Nature in Distress presented by Sabine Wilke, Dept of Germanics, University of Washington. MICHAEL BROPHY STUDIO REBUILDING FUND: A fire recently overtook a few buildings in NE Portland. Two of the people affected were Portland artist Michael Brophy and his girlfriend Holly Cundiff. Michael is an incredible painter and person, Holly- equally incredible- is an arts enthusiast and collector. The building that was damaged was not only their residence but also Michael's studio. The fire and the water damage, destroyed personal property as well as some artwork. You can support Michael and Holly by donating whatever you can to a special rebuilding fund. All donations are tax-deductible and all donations big or small will serve a great purpose. Checks should be made payable to:
