Oct 13-Nov 30 - Vancouver has been credited since the 1960s
as a driving force behind the development of performance
art, and continues to be a vital centre internationally.
This year's LIVE Biennial, coordinated by G the Grunt
Gallery, is the collaborative effort of 17 arts
organizations. Performances will be spread over a period of
six weeks at the venues listed above.
The 2001 Biennial focuses on the work of performance artists
who are solo. Confirmed artists at this time include Alvin
Tolentino, Rebecca Belmore, Judy Radul, Michael Turner,
Rodney Graham, Mirha Soleil Ross, Diane Landry, Robert
Ashley, Victoria Stanton, Louise Moyes, Josie Tremblay, and
Trolley Bus.
The 2001 LIVE Biennial gets off to a resounding start at the
Vancouver Art Gallery on October 13.
