Last Drop First Flame is a series of drawings and sculptural installations by German-born artist Jessica Wozny, who has lived and worked in Mexico since 1996. The works reference the Deluge Gallery's history as Victoria's first fire hall. Delicate and ambiguous, the drawings explore the nature of fire and water through scribbled shapes and markings. They are intended to be metaphors for the notion of creation itself – a state of emergence, flux and mutability.

Wozny has worked in all manner of unexpected artistic techniques and media, including plastic and textiles. Her installations have included fuzzy knitted forms that resemble flesh-eating microbes. Her background includes a BA in Visual Arts from the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado "La Esmeralda" in 2002. In 2003, Wozny founded Ediciones Plan B with artist and curator Luis Hampshire. Based in Oaxaca, Mexico, they often curate exhibits at the Galería Manuel García Arte Contemporáneo.

In 2005, Wozny was the co-curator of Project Room at the Galería Manuel García Arte Contemporáneo in Oaxaca. She has exhibited extensively internationally and throughout Mexico, most recently as part of Paréntesis: 17 años de trabajo, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Oaxaca, (MACO), and NOW.Transformation.Spaces, Casa del Lago in Mexico City.
